I wrote this after I heard Lowell George's version of A. Toussaint's "What Do You Want the Girl To Do". I shamelessly steal from the best. I didn't think I could do it justice in the studio, though, so I handed it to my good friend Jon Carroll (Mary Chapin Carpenter, Starland Vocal Band), who i often turn to for making my lumber into something you might like to have in your house. You can hear how he fleshed out the bones of this tune and made my dreams come true.
